Tees Valley Combined Authority challenged on capacity to comply with Best Value duties

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has issued a Best Value Notice to the controversial Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) over concerns that the authority does not have the capacity to comply with its best value duties imposed following the Tees Valley review in early 2024. TVCA works with partners on transport projects, including hundreds of millions of pounds invested in train stations part funded by the combined authority.
