Proposals to introduce a ‘fast track’ planning approval process to speed up the delivery of public service buildings and provide greater flexibility to extend these premises have been set out by the Housing Secretary this week.

Net zero buildings need procurement change, says guidance

Greater use of ‘outcome based’ procurement is needed to help ensure net zero carbon outcomes set out in the design of sustainable buildings are not lost during construction, a new guidance document urges. Contractors and developers could be asked to accept energy savings based payments under one suggestion from the UK Green Building Council.
