Large sums of taxpayer’s money risk being wasted as a wave of Private Finance Initiative contracts expire without careful management by the public sector, the Public Accounts Committee has warned in a new report out today (Friday 19 March). Establishing procurement strategies early to replace the PFIs will be important, one lawyer says.
