Handling of Magnox procurement and litigation slammed

Flaws in procurement design and execution left the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority open to legal challenges following the award of a contract to decommission 12 Magnox sites, an inquiry has reported. It adds that corporate governance deficiencies including ‘optimism bias’ contributed to the contract’s eventual failure and renegotiation.
