Major contractor speaks out against renegotiating HS2 contracts

Balfour Beatty Chief Executive Leo Quinn has said HS2 should not prioritise re-negotiating its contracts, as was suggested should be done in a Public Accounts Committee report in February, and should instead focus on delivery of the controversial project.

Fire safety costs appeals being heard this week

Developer Get Living is appealing this week against a ruling that it should help foot the bill for fire safety work in the former Olympic athletes’ village in east London in what is seen as a potentially landmark test case. A separate Building Safety Act appeal relating to the costs of fire safety works at Hippersley Point in southeast London, is also being heard this week.
