Electricity and downstream natural gas regulator Ofgem is consulting on introducing a new investment fund worth between £5 billion and £8 billion that would help Britain’s energy transmission owners cut delays, control costs and beat other nations to attract international investment in the drive to net zero.

Commitment to carbon reduction lacking, says RICS report

The UK needs to do more to achieve its buildings and infrastructure carbon reduction goals and a more comprehensive sustainability approach is needed from government, says the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in a new report. Private funding possible for northern rail links

The government is examining using private finance for a new rail link connecting Birmingham with Manchester, Transport Secretary Louise Haigh has confirmed.
