Interserve fined for complacency over data breach

Interserve Group has been fined £4.4 million for breaching data protection law. The Information Commissioner’s Office – the UK’s independent regulator for data protection and information rights law – found that the construction company failed to put appropriate security measures in place to prevent a cyber attack.

Australian dispute erodes Laing O’Rourke profits

Major contractor Laing O’Rourke has reported a £75.7 million hole in its finances, reflecting an adjustment to recoverable costs in relation to a disputed contract in Australia which was terminated in 2017.
