Roads regulator starts investigation into National Highways performance

The Office of Rail and Road is to investigate whether National Highways is taking every action that could 'reasonably be expected' of it to meet its targets under the current Road Investment Strategy which has a year to run.

Court rejects attempt to force engineer to produce a collateral warranty

The Scottish Court of Session has ruled that a structural engineer could not be compelled to execute and deliver a collateral warranty in favour of the landowner more than five years after the conclusion of a contract between the engineer and the project’s contractor which created the obligation to produce a warranty that was never complied with.

Government urged to scrap tax cut plans and increase public investment

HS2 slammed for failure to provide value for money

The House of Commons Public Accounts Committee (PAC) says that HS2 now represents very poor value for money and neither the Department for Transport (DfT) or HS2 Ltd knows what the final benefits of the project will be. Costs have continued to escalate and neither the DfT or HS2 know how much the project will now cost, a PAC report says.

Bid to overturn bid rigging disqualification rejected by High Court
