Net zero buildings need procurement change, says guidance

Greater use of ‘outcome based’ procurement is needed to help ensure net zero carbon outcomes set out in the design of sustainable buildings are not lost during construction, a new guidance document urges. Contractors and developers could be asked to accept energy savings based payments under one suggestion from the UK Green Building Council.
