Nuclear safety boost

Following the nuclear power plant accident in Fukushima, on 24 March 2011 the European Council requested European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) to review the safety of the nuclear plants in the EU. It combines 17 national reports from countries with nuclear power.

Complex projects consultation

Consultation ends on 30 July on the Chartered Institute of Building’s (CIOB) Complex Projects Contract, the first standard contract published by the Institute in 140 years.

Disputes likely to rise

The UK construction market comes out comparatively well on some scores in the latest EC Harris Global Construction Disputes report (see News), which suggests that whereas the global average value of sums involved in construction disputes has fallen over the year since the last report, disputes are taking longer to resolve.
