Financial regulator fines former Carillion Chief Executive

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has fined former Carillion Chief Executive Richard Howson £237,700 for his part in misleading statements being issued by Carillion plc before it went bust.

Trial dates set for Hinkley Point C prosecutions

Trial dates have been scheduled for 17th January 2028 in the prosecution of Hinkley Point C contractors following the death of a worker in November 2022. The trial at Bristol Crown Court is expected to last between four and six weeks.

Commitment made to modernise railways in Wales

Architects call for fundamental reform of Scottish procurement

The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) has welcomed the Scottish Government’s recent consultation on raising tender threshold values under the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 but has called for fundamental reform of construction procurement in Scotland. RIAS is calling for significant reform or replacement of the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014.
