Private bill proposes tougher modern slavery laws

A private member’s bill seeking to introduce two new offences under the Modern Slavery Act has had its first reading in the House of Lords. The Modern Slavery (Amendment) Bill was introduced to Parliament by independent peer Lord Alton of Liverpool.

Construction court sees sharp rise in settlements

Construction dispute values rocket amid pandemic impacts

Average value of construction disputes rose to its highest level ever in the UK last year according to a new report from Arcadis, which also reveals that 75% of respondents to an industry survey encountered disputes or claims specifically related to Covid-19 impacts.
