Private bill proposes tougher modern slavery laws

A private member’s bill seeking to introduce two new offences under the Modern Slavery Act has had its first reading in the House of Lords. The Modern Slavery (Amendment) Bill was introduced to Parliament by independent peer Lord Alton of Liverpool.
